Austin Fashion Week has partnered with Beauty Over Bruises to create the first-ever RESILIENCE runway show during AFW Fall 2025!

This show will take place at 2:00 pm on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at The Domain.

According to recent statistics, 1 in 3 Texans will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. This means you likely know someone, even if they haven’t directly shared about it, who has experienced some form of domestic violence; perhaps you are a survivor yourself. Our partnership’s shared mission is to raise awareness about domestic violence, its prevalence, and to encourage those of you who are survivors to step forward and to heal/express yourself through art. We will keep anything you share confidential. 

We have chosen to weave the color purple into our theme for this particular show. Purple is the color for domestic violence awareness as it symbolizes dignity, courage, and the dedication to end domestic violence. We require that you incorporate some shade and at least one purple element into every look you show. 

All show participants will dress at least one domestic violence survivor model. These models will be intermixed with professional models so anonymity can be achieved.

If you are a designer, stylist or retailer who is passionate about raising awareness about domestic violence and who can agree to using purple in your looks, we strongly encourage you to fill out the below application.

PARTICIPATION PROCESS & DEADLINES:

• Deadline to apply is October 5, 2025 or until all spots are filled. Applications will be reviewed in the order received.
• Complete the application below signifying how many looks you’d be interested in creating, a bio, and links to your prior work. Applicants may show no more than 5 looks to increase participation.
• Gain approval from the Austin Fashion Week Advisory Board.
• Once approved, you will be notified and sent a contract.
• Approved participants will have a profile on the Austin Fashion Week website as one of the showing designers/stylists during RESILIENCE on Saturday, November 8, 2025 at The Domain.
• There is an OPTIONAL $100 fee to the designer/stylist to participate but you must be approved by the Board. This fee will be donated directly to Beauty Over Bruises. If you are unable to make this donation, that’s ok — you can note it in your application below.
• Models/Hair/Makeup are all provided by Austin Fashion Week. At least one of your assigned models will be a domestic violence survivor.
• Please note that approved participants do not receive complimentary tickets for the event. All tickets must be purchased. The designer/stylist and one assistant will have full backstage access without the need to purchase tickets.
