ALA ANCHA HAT CO
From the vibrant rhythms of Puerto Rico to the intricate art of hat-making, Jorge, known in the world of millinery as La Sombra, crafts headwear that stands as a testament to his unique vision and heritage.
After dedicating 21 years of active service to the military and two tours of duty in Afghanistan, Jorge’s journey took a transformative turn toward his lifelong passion: fedoras and the rich world of hatting and millinery.
Drawing inspiration from the iconic Pedro Navaja, a street figure immortalized in Latin American culture by Ruben Blades, La Sombra infuses each creation with a touch of intrigue and elegance. His wide-
brimmed hats (sombreros de ala ancha), like all his creations, offer not just shade but a statement of individuality.
At Ala Ancha Hat Co. every hat is a masterpiece. From timeless classics to bespoke, one-of-a-kind designs, La Sombra’s hats are crafted with meticulous attention to detail and an unwavering commitment to the customer’s vision. His creations transcend fleeting trends, embodying a blend of traditional craftsmanship and avant-garde innovation. Wearing an Ala Ancha hat is more than an accessory; it’s a journey into the shadows of unparalleled style and personal expression.
CHIC & TRENDY TWEENS BY MISS NORMA
My name is Mrs. Norma Longoria. I am a Retired Army Staff Sergeant with over 23 years of Active Duty military service. Fashion has always been a passion of mine since my high school years. Having my baby girl in pageants since she was 6 years old introduced me to a different level of fashion. I always wanted to make sure she looked her best at every event she volunteered. Fast forward now, my baby is now in College at Texas State University studying to become a fashion designer. She will be showing her line on this show; Heavenly Flower by Leilani. That inspired me to finally take a role as a designer to show my line, Chic & Trendy Tweens. The name came from having to dress my daughter up all the time. I like my Tween clothing to make an attitude statement on the runway and behind the camera as well. Hope you enjoy my clothing line.

NOOR
My name is Noor Saleh, and I am a Palestinian designer. I have loved fashion since I was a little girl. My love for fashion comes from my culture, where hand embroidery, or Tatreez as we call it, is a way to tell our stories. I took home economics in 8th grade, and then in high school I took fashion design for 3 years!
I currently take classes at Houston community College in the fashion design program and I absolutely love it.
I have entered a few shows/ art exhibits to show my work. My designs are inspired by my religion, Islam, and my home, Palestine.
ŌဗJ
I’m an Artist/Designer. Born and raised in Austin, Texas. I make a mess on canvas and textile. Paintbrush says hi and canvas says “hey ow ow ow chi stop dirtying me. Oh, that’s amusing!”. Darn, you soft pastels, you always get my hands and floors dirty. Oh, I love you, but don’t take it the wrong way when I paint a dream on your white canvas. But, now you’re full of stinky chemical colors, oh you were so perfect before. Art is like a dish sponge, you phu you up for the benefit of others. Yes, I made beauty, yes I made it clean, but the paint brush, the utensils were screaming for help. I have been creating art since elementary school, destroying, ripping, gathering and bashing materials for the sake of beauty. Some may simply not understand, I call it art, but your daddy may call it “you son of a squirrel, you dismantled my carpet. ” Sorry, I just love art and design. In short, my artwork and clothing brand are one.
