A BEAD IN TIME JEWELRY

Owner and founder of A Bead In Time Jewelry, Dale Ellison is a third-generation physician who needed a break from the serious nature of her work. When reflecting on hobbies she had pursued in the past, jewelry-making was the one thing she recalls as being relaxing and gratifying. It wasn’t long before every surface in Ellison’s home was covered in necklaces, earrings, and bracelets and she knew this was far more than a hobby.

Ellison soon began making strides in the jewelry industry. Pieces from A Bead In Time Jewelry have been featured on numerous television series, including “The Young and The Restless,” “Law and Order: SVU,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “This Is Us” and “So Help Me Todd.”

A Bead In Time Jewelry was established in 2010 in Austin. Ellison creates handmade precious metal, wire, and beaded gemstone jewelry. She’s currently selling her pieces on Etsy and at Atown.

BLACK CROSS

Austin based, Costume Designer/Fashion Designer, Midi Soliz’s career began in theatre in Corpus Christi, Texas. Her talent has marked motion pictures, touring shows, commercials, special events, runways and museums.

“It was really the La Catrina Balls (a special annual event thrown by Austin’s Mexicarte Museum) where, after 3 years of runway shows, that I began to see what I really do. I enjoy telling stories through my craft. Through the art of my engineering and design skills” expresses Midi, “every project is its own challenge, with materials and movement. It’s up to me to make it work. It’s always exciting to watch pieces come to life.”

And this challenge will be no different. Developing a fashion story using Goodwill merchandise and materials, the pallet pulled from the stores bins is of fun patterns and textures.

Midi, “It will be a fun story told through recycled items, with a post apocalyptic twisted tale told through design that will have witches flying and out of this world beings grounding. Watch fashion forces collide on the runway”.
The story begins.

FRAGILE ECCENTRICS CLOTHING

Fragile Eccentrics Clothing was born from a desire to break the mold of traditional fashion. Created by Diana Boch and Sara Kluss, two moms of boys who saw a gap in the market for unique and stylish boys’ clothing, the brand quickly grew into something bigger. What started as a mission to bring variety to boys’ fashion soon evolved into a full-fledged creative movement—expanding to include girls’, women’s, and men’s fashion, along with accessories.

Based in Austin, Texas, every piece of Fragile Eccentrics Clothing is thoughtfully designed and handcrafted in their studio. Made-to-order, custom, or in limited quantities, their collections celebrate individuality, craftsmanship, and slow fashion. Each design reflects a balance of boldness and wearability, allowing customers to express their personal style with confidence.

Fragile Eccentrics Clothing isn’t just about apparel—it’s about embracing the beautifully unconventional. Whether it’s a one-of-a-kind custom piece or a small-batch collection, Diana and Sara continue to challenge the norms of fashion, proving that creativity and quality go hand in hand.

FURRY FASHIONS DESIGNS

After 32 wonderful years in education, I retired as a school librarian. I needed a pastime that would provide a creative outlet so I learned to sew. I started small by sewing pet apparel including bandanas, snuggies, and jackets. As my sewing skills improved, I moved on to sewing for my human friends. I watched a documentary that opened my eyes to the tons of textile waste that we generate and vowed to move my focus to using thrifted items to create cool, fun designs that would be one of a kind and allow me to put my visions onto the fabric. I primarily create loungewear/streetwear hoodies that are oversized and celebrate your interests by combining a vintage T-shirt, a flannel, and a hoodie, sourced from local Goodwill shops. In addition I scoop up denim jackets and jeans and repurpose those with applique’, lettering, and designs cut from leather or fabric scraps, often found at the Goodwill Bins. Remnants from my projects are then donated to a local sewing 4-H group or sewn into pouches for the Austin Wildlife Rescue babies. While the impact may be small, I have a large group of friends that now ask me to take them with me to thrift!

I3ESSENTIAL

My name is Brandon Madyun, born and raised in Austin, Texas. When I first started i3Essential, I would visit thrift stores and Goodwill to buy clothes, bags, and even picture frames, then paint them to make them my own. Over time, I learned how to sew, and now I combine both sewing and painting to create each garment from scratch. Every piece is hand-sewn and painted by me, reflecting my personal journey to learning self-love.

As a creative, I’ve combined my passion for art and academics to innovate in my craft, making it interactive, motivational, and informative. Above all, I strive to promote self-love and raise awareness about mental health. My mission is to inspire individuals to embrace their authentic selves because, at the core, there is nothing greater than self-love.

i3Essential is built on three core principles:
1. Embrace Individuality – There’s nothing wrong with being different.
2. Be Supportive – Lifting each other up helps communities grow.
3. Do It for You (Don’t Seek Validation) – True self-love comes from doing what you want, not because you have to.

i3Essential was born out of resilience and a deep need for self-expression, created as a symbol of safety and empowerment for those who seek to embrace their true selves. The logo represents protection, and now, whether on a shirt, backpack, shoes, or poster, “i3” signifies a community where everyone is welcomed, accepted, and supported. As the movement grew, I founded i3Essential Marketing, an organization dedicated to empowering aspiring entrepreneurs on campuses in Austin.

Through mentorship, coaching, workshops, fashion shows, photo shoots, and networking opportunities, i3Essential Marketing provides students with a platform for creative expression, personal growth, and professional development.

I am currently an educator and i am deeply committed to giving back to the community and contributing to the growth of emerging entrepreneurs, by creating a dynamic, inclusive environment, I aim to create a space where creativity, ambition, and diversity converge, shaping the future of success and innovation. Thank you and remember i3Essential Because Your Dreams Matter

MEXICANICECREAM

I use nothing but secondhand and vintage blanks for my designs and push that message across. I believe fast fashion has taken over and has contributed to the overall increase in landfill capacity. We need to be spending less on designs that take more time and quality to make. I believe buying consciously is more important than buying to catch up with the trends.

PRIOR WASTE

Prior Waste was founded on the idea of combatting the major overconsumption and waste issues within the fashion industry by taking what’s already around us and reworking it into something iconic and new. One man’s trash is another man’s treasure and we believe there are treasures all around us if you chose to see the beauty in them, or let us find them for you and shop at WWW.PRIORWASTE.COM.

REDEUX STYLE

Sarah Teresinski’s journey to upcycling didn’t happen intentionally, at first.
In 2005 when her oldest daughter, Lennon, was very small, she couldn’t afford new, trendy clothing and room decor.
Sarah decided to teach herself to sew, and used her old clothing to remake new clothing and accessories for herself and Lennon. She always had a passion for thrifting, so she shopped secondhand and created a nursery for Lennon by upcycling thrifted items.
In 2009, an old friend was inspired by the clothing Sarah was making for her daughter, so she asked her to design a children’s collection for an Apparel Co. in Nashville.
With the experience Sarah gained working in Nashville, this led her to create Redeux (pronounced “redo”) Style. This gave her a platform to show other people how cool and fun it can be to upcycle old clothing and furniture into new, fabulous items!
From there, Sarah started upcycling EVERYTHING for her home and family. Curtains into dresses, bookshelves into sandboxes, diaper changing tables into bar carts, old, scratched vinyls into wine racks, skateboards into TP holders!
You name it: if it’s not being used, she will find a way to make it useful and keep it out of a landfill.
Sarah loves sharing all of her upcycles on her social media channels, @redeux_style.
She was voted a Fave Follow on social media after her appearance on The Today Show with Hoda & Jenna. She’s been an upcycling contributor on the Drew Barrymore Show, Good Morning Texas, and she has been featured on Good Day Dallas, Houston Life, and Good Day Chicago, to name just a few.
Sarah’s upcycles and room makeovers have been featured in Architectural Digest, Mingle Magazine, Real Homes, DenGarden, Popular Mechanics, Apartment Therapy, the Volkswagen Drive Bigger Campaign, and, most notably, The Spruce, where she was voted one of the top six design influencers you’d want to follow.
Sarah has worked with Goodwill Finds as their Upcycling Expert and was chosen as an influencer to work with HGTV’s Smart Home Giveaway for 2024. Sarah also won a national contest for Behr Paint, Season 2, crowned as the Uitimate DIYER, upcycling and reworking an entire room to bring home the win!
She also designs her own upcycled kids clothing collection called Redeux Kidz and Reloved, and has designed hundreds of upcycled Game Day Gear for Fleastyle & the Dallas Cowboys!
Sarah resides in Austin Hill Country, on 15 acres with her hubby, Mike, her 3 darling kids, 2 german shepherds, and one grandma in a casita.
She spends her days upcycling and reworking really cool things for her clients out of stuff other people think they don’t want.
Restyling, Reworking, and Upcycling beautiful, functional spaces & clothing is Sarah’s passion!

SAVY SEWS

For the past four years at Savy Sews, I have been committed to fighting fast fashion by encouraging others to see their closets in a new light. I urge them to think twice before discarding clothes that could end up in landfills and to explore creative ways to give those items a second life. This can involve adding embellishments, hemming, or even designing something entirely new.
